Overcharged for shipping

I know you are thinking that this is another thread about sellers ripping buyers for shipping.
Well, in a way it is and happy to say it really isn't. I read on this board weekly about sellers who charge
way to much for shipping and buyer gripping afterwards. This seller charges way too much to
ship 1 card and don't know if he combines, but I didn't bother ask. I just entered my bid
with the $10 shipping in mind and figured it in to the final price I was willing to pay. I thought the card was
worth between $45 and $80 depending on how you feel about qualifiers. ( I happen to like them as I don't
care about grade points or the registry and sniped $30. Maybe the qualifier and or the shipping charge scared every
else off. I feel got a good buy and could care less about the shipping as I figured it in to the
final cost. I just think if more buyers realized the final total before they bid and sellers state it up front, (even if it is
outragious) we'd have less posts about shipping and more about cards and nice pick ups. BTW, this card
maybe Q'ed as MC, but its a nice example with a tougher back. Happy Holidays, Joe

  • I have bought from the same seller, taking into account the large shipping cost. I have received 2 cards, and both have been protected very nicely in a good box. I even reused the box to ship a card to someone else. I would buy from this seller anytime.

One of my favorite backs. Like you say - factor it in - that's what the seller's done.

    Nice pickup.

And, I would like to see more people contributing about something they enjoy - interesting items - especially oddball.

    Merry Christmas

Mike, I know we're friends but don't tell everyone you know that I'm an oddball.
They will find out soon enough!!! Heck, all they have to do is read my posts! image

Good way to look at it. If you ever feel a selling is gouging you for shipping on a card, just take a look at the oriental rug sellers on ebay! Where it only may cost $30-40 to ship one, these people sell the rugs real cheap(so they don't have to pay the ebay fees on them) and then charge $100-$300 for shiping. I'm guessing that also gets them out of paying tax on them as well if they have a legit storefront.
