Hi,I'm new to the forum

imageI just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Sonny, I live in the people's repuplic of Maryland, Land of the corrupt, but surely the home of the brave( We live here). My wife and I have 5 sons, James, John, Philip, Mark & Joseph.
I collect for my sons(my 2 youngest) the 1983 & 1984 topps baseball. I collect Randy Jones & Nate Colbert as well as some strange tribute sets now and into the future of the the guys that somehow found a way to make it in baseball despite their apparent lack of talent.
You guys get into some odd discussions but I sure have learned alot about this great hobby from these very pages. I just hope that I can rize to the occasion and add something thats not here, at least not that often.

    Welcome. This is the best and most fun board around IMO. Do you collect anything other than 1983 and 1984 Topps baseball?

    things" , plus a couple of oddball sets. With 5 children , money is always , at least for me, an issue.
    I used to collect nice coins as well , but after getting scolded out of the frying pan by one of the larger grading companies, I decided to collect for fun, not for money. If you check the regisrty, my items are easy to find, and there lies your answer.Thanks

    As far as wish list goes , I was kinda hoping someone was in need of a high maintenance mother -in -law. Mines is WORLD FAMOUS in our neighborhood and our home. Compared to her , card collecting is easy. Are any of you UP to it. Nothing like placebos for me, to keep me going.Thanks

    Thanks for all your kindness , but I always tell my children, anyone can look good for five minutes, sorta just kidding. My 83 Topps set is listed under My Son's Mark and my 84 is listed as My Son"s Joseph, both easy to find. You will find there are other sets I collect as well.     Welcome and Merry Christmas!

    You're wise beyond your years - collecting can easily become OCD and kick your ass!

    I opened 4 vending boxes of 83T - have yet to put a set together.

    I did pull a really nice Ryno which got a 9 - was very happy! Practically the only centered card in the batch.

    I think ya have your hands full with the family and mother-in-law.

    I wish ya all the best on your Reg sets and other stuff.
