Recieved my 1978 Topps hockey today from The Baseball card kid. Mike Murphy. What a waste of money that was. Not one Mike Bossy Rc. Out of the whole vending box of 500+ cards i was able to pull only 23 cards that even stand a chance at a PSA 9 a few maybe PSA 10 I can honestly say that i am 99.9 percent sure that the box was not tampered with. Either i got a bad vending box or just stay away from vending boxes from this year if this is the crap you pull out of them. So basically 110.00 dollars down the drain. When i bought this my expectations were at 10 percent of cards being worth graded at a minimum. That would have been 50 cards. I didn't even get 5 percent !! Steve
Sorry to hear about that, ezy. Of all the sources for unopened material, vending boxes have to be the worst for pulling cards, IMO. Vending boxes are very easily searched (unless they are pulled out of a truly sealed case) and the cards are prone to corner dings, etc. If you get a bad run or a poor collation, forget it. I'm sure the box you bought from Steve was authentic, but vending is a real crapshoot any way you look at it.

Just a correction for people who read my post before i changed it. The vending came from The Baseball kid. And in no way i am telling people to stay away from his product just because i had one bad vending box and i appoligize for putting BBCE at first. Both sellers have great rating and would trust both dealers on anything i purchase from them. Everybody knows vendinging is a crapshoot and centering on this one just happened to be 95+ percent bad. Sorry to hear about the vending.
You can easily tell if the box was messed with - it would seem almost impossible to put it back like it's packaged from Topps.
And, it's not that unusual - I opened 2 boxes of 83T from BBCExchange and got no Boggs.
Try BBCEx and see if it goes better?
Good luck and Merry Christmas
