So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

i took +10 parlayed with over 38... man i got lucky. pushed on the 38!! so i won the san fran bet..

i kinda like the chiefs +9 sunday night.. perfect spot for a letdown game by the bolts.. might take chiefs moneyline... but the 9 points are good value i think!

1420 sorry but santa is giving out dallas wins this year!!
  • despite their poor performance the last few weeks, i'm having a hard time not liking the colts -3; that's got to be the smallest spreads in the rca dome in a long time...

but i see crumpler having a big day. dallas safety posistion has been bad all year. and the TE have been hurting us. perfect spot to start alge in your fantasy leagues!

    i think dallas wins 23-21

If Bryant Gumbel was the only person broadcasting instructions on how to leave town before the nuclear missiles landed I would still have to turn off the television. Since Dante wrote his Inferno they have added a deeper circle of Hell, and Bryant Gumbel is there for all eternity to explain to you his theories on race and politics. He is easily the most insufferable person to ever walk the planet.
This is for you @thisistheshow - Jim Rice was actually a pretty good player.

Wait until the last minute to take the Cheifs. DON'T take the 9. If the line steams to 10 you will have gained considerably, while if the line steams to 8 you'll have lost very little-- by virtue of the fact that 10 is a more common number than 8.

I'm surprised how really, really bad he is. He's great at reading a script, but he is absolutely pathetic as a play-by-play man.

He is so bad that I find it hard to focus and watch the game. He's so bad that he brings down Cris Collinsworth. The whole NFL Network production just sucks.

I have DirectTV and the game isn't broadcast in high-definition.

The real watch last night was The Office --- one of the best TV comedies of all-time!
    Enjoy your collection!

I remember a bit on Saturday Night Live Weekend Update about 15 years ago where one of the news stories was "Bryant Gumbel's ego applied for statehood today. If ratified, it would be our nation's 51st state, and fourth largest."
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !
  • I am willing to give him this whole year's worht of games before I pass judgement because he has never done this before. That being said he's not good. I'll give him this though, he single-handedly kept San Fran in the game last night. Jeremy Stevans caught around a 20 yard pass for a first down deep in San Fran territory. They were all set to go to the next play when Gumbel saw on the one replay they gave that the ball moved. They took another look, and you could see the ball hit the ground. Next thing you know Arizona challenges the call, and it becomes fourth down Seattle. They have to punt. The booth guys for both teams determine whether or not to challenge a call based on the TV replays. That is all they see. If Gumbel does not call for another look, Seattle is in scoring position. It was a big play in the game.

No you're not alone! During the first game that they aired, I told my wife that listening to him was like fingernails on a chalkboard. I even muted the TV several times to avoid having to hear his voice.
There are two types of people in this world; those who like Neil Diamond, and those who don't. My ex-wife loves him!!

He is ridiculously bad. As I said in another post, an elephant on barbituates would be more exciting.
No such details will spoil my plans...

Hey Chris, have fun at the game!

I think the teams are evenly matched, but the Falcons have been wildly inconsistent this year. They haven't done a good job in the dome (losing to the brownies).

Even after their terrible 4 game losing streak, they haven't played that well in their past two wins. In both of those games they fell behind and had to comeback in the second half - I doubt they could do that again as both Falcons running backs are listed as questionable for tomorrow's game. It makes sense for Dallas to be favored, but I also agree that this will be close.

What about tonight with Bryant Gumble and the other guy having laryngitis....ABSOLUTELY UNREAL HOW BAD THAT WAS...

  • << <i>What about tonight with Bryant Gumble and the other guy having laryngitis....ABSOLUTELY UNREAL HOW BAD THAT WAS... >>

Who was that guy with the scratchy throat?

    he SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED!

  • That was horrible last night!! They finally got rid of the guy, so we didn't have to listen to him anymore. One simple request for the announcers.....can you please get the names correct! 70,000 people in the stands, millions watching on TV and you are the only ones who don't know the correct names! You have all the paperwork and stats and you still can't get it right. It's not Warwick Dunn.....it's Warrick. It's not Justin Griffin, it's Griffith! Maybe they can hire Dennis Miller for next week!

Vermeil is actually a good color man but should not have been on air with the throat trouble. He did some broadcasting between gigs with the Eagles, Rams and Chiefs.

Gumble must have been in his glory when they had Faulk and Deion in the booth. Bryant has been known to be quite racially bigoted. How often do you get an all African American broadcast team? I can't think of one in the NFL. A good thing and they should have more but replace Gumble and Sanders. Faulk has turned out to be very good. At least that chicken necked Collinsworth wasn't in the booth.

Sanders is just a moron. He and Irvin should get their own show. The wife went to school with him here in FL. Many stories of his classless behavior. He has a non profit that has unsucessfully tried to build low income housing here in town, and also failed last year at being a surrogate father for a local high school phenom Noel Devine. The kid moved to Texas to live with Deion then moved back a few weeks later.

On another note. Anyone know why James Brown left FOX and went to CBS? He was great at FOX, wish he has stayed.

Now all they need is Dick Clark in the booth.
