Some say I'm a fool or a pest
And what I collect's not the best
    Though crazy, my goal's
    To collect coins with holes-
They really look nice on my vest.

(Geez, that was hard. Good creative challenge, though- thanks.) image

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

    bobx,

"A collector was moaning and groaning
about a coin worthy of owning
    It slipped into his mouth
    later came out "down south"
and now it is blessed with great toning!"

Wasn't it slabbed as Brilliant "Undefecated" ? Definitely a gem quality limerick...

A collection was bought in BU

They were sent in for grading
    and after the waiting
They were all bodybagged cleaned AU

A man bought an orb made of platinum
from the mint that does " dis and dat'' wit 'em
It was off to the expert
where a high grade means pay dirt
and his pockets ? PCGS did fatten 'em.

Good job. It's amazing how few of these limericks actually follow the prescribed format for a limerick. Yours does and "flows" nicely. With a little effort, most of the others could too, I would think.image

There once was a collector from Kent
Whose cent in the middle was bent
    He always had trouble
Since his damaged cent was double
& wished it was an error from the mint

My coins are nice and shiny
    Although I'm not a limey
    To collect I crave
    til my grave
And until then pure cor blimey
