Submitting World Gold

Good Afternoon....I have a dozen or so mint state World Gold coins from the late 1890's and early 20th century. There are marks, rubles, francs, and even a netherland trade ducat from 1928, to name a few. So, the question is, if any of these coins are on the higher mint state end of the spectrum, are they worth submitting for grading? I was considering taking the better examples and having them graded. The lower end items, I was thinking of leaving them raw. Looking at the PCGS Pop reports, it looks like there are not too many examples submitted. What would you suggest? Are there considerable premiums on Gem type World coins? Excuse the questions, my knowledge is limited mainly to US material.

Thx for your direction...

  • Given the genral description that you have provided I would have to say no, they are not worth having them graded. Exception would be if they are very high grade, I'd say 66 or better for most - 65 for a few.

Thank you...I wasnt sure of what preservation levels would be more collectible...I know US material can jump significantly from, say MS62 to MS63

If I am shooting for 66's, then odds are it probably isnt worth the investment image
