Advice on a coin on eBay Netherlands?

There's a coin on ebay.NL that I need for my main type set. It's likely to go fairly low and I do have more than enough euro cash handy to send if it comes to that. The seller doesn't have the PP logo.

Should I just bid and send cash?

There are still 4 days left on it. Can anyone help with advice or does anyone here speak Dutch so I can competently ask the seller his advice?

Thanks!

  • Why don't you try asking your question in English, and also translating it here? Many Europeans speak English, and those I've contacted with Babel Fish translations have been very polite about the mechanical translations.

I would ask the seller if he takes PayPal. He may even though he doesn't have the PP logo. I would send anything over 25 Euros via Registered Mail.

I'll probably wind up doing that. I've done it with German sellers plenty of times, but I (kinda-sorta image) speak German.

I doubt it'll even pass €10. I do know a friendly dealer over there who can probably help if the guy turns out to be a boob. I dunno. I'm just fishing for ideas, and trying to confirm my own.
  • I have run into this problem occasionally, but found a good solution that works for me. I have a friend in Germany that I can PayPal the funds to, and then he can do the Überweisung (IBAN-BIC bank transfer that works throughout the Euro-zone). If you know anyone in Europe that will bounce the payment for you, you may consider that as an option.

Tell the friendly dealer to purchase it for you!

Otherwise, when dealing with the Dutch or Scandinavians, they know Enlish really well. Don't worry about language.

I have yet to meet (or even hear about) a Dutch who doesn't speak English; plus, they're generally pro-American, if that helps. Anyway, I wouldn't hesitate to send him cash in the mail. It is indeed a very small amount.
