Is 1975 Topps Football too........

Saturated right now? I have been working on the set for 2 years, and I've seen prices fall considerably (good to fill a set). PSA graded 9s and 10s are far below what they used to be in terms

of value. I think more and more wax and vending have been busted, and every time I check ebay, 4 SC, and DSL, have numerous cards listed. Other than one or two hard to

get cards in 9 or 10, I think there is too much supply right now. What do the football collectors say?

Par for the course for cards from the 70's and 80's...Aside from the few "hard to find" cards, you're going to see more and more product getting graded.

If you can still find packs and boxes, you can rest assured you'll see the pops increase...

Anyone seen a pack of 1948 Leaf football lately???lol

One of the greatest things to happen to registered set builders is the increased number of 'recreational card submitters'; by which I mean people who do not submit cards for TPG in order to fill their own sets, or to turn a buck, but just for the thrill of having grades pop. This pheomenon alone can probably account for at least 25% of the current volume of collectible grade post-1970 cards in PSA slabs.
  • I have recently started several sets in the 70's and early 80's FB for the simple fact they are free. When I am able to buy at less than 50% of SMR. It seems like a good time. Last year when I tried to start a few of these, there was nothing available under SMR. It is even showing up on dealer fixed price lists at well under SMR for some of these.
I suspect that these will come and go in waves as the price dictates. As the supply rises the prices fall, when the prices fall far enough, the dealers stop submitting. The supply dries up, prices rise and we start all over again. But I agree we Jason that thesee are not going to be scarce even in top grades except for a few cards.
Looks like the best time to pick them up to me is when no one else wants them.

Scattered common 9s from this set are being sold by 4SC at $3 opening bids.

If you have the money and like the set, it's a great time to fill it at prices below what you can submit for.

I just picked up around 30 PSA 9 1980 Topps fb cards from 4SC for around $110 dlvd. Not too bad. To be honest, I have no idea why 4SC even bothers when they're selling a good portion of their mid/late 70's and early 90's PSA 9's for less than the cost of grading. After all, high grades cards are tough to pull from unopened packs/vending boxes.

  • 4SC most likely gets reduced grading fees for submitting hundreds at a time. How do I know? I asked PSA for a discount
and they said they would consider it, just ask Joe.

They probably are charged 2 or 3 per card. Starting bid of $3, and you still make money. I think they opened up a case of vending,

(from Fritsch?????), and submitted about 1000 cards at a time. That's why it is too saturated right now. But like people have said, that

is the time to complete your set.
