Just wanted to introduce myself

My name is Keith and ive been coming to this forum for quite some time . I have learned alot from all of you and i hope to be involved alot more . First i wanted to say that i got started collecting about 15 years ago . I have been in and out of the hobby a couple times . I first started collecting negro league autographs thru the mail . i have enjoyed collecting all types of autos since then . i collect modern cards to a point . theres just way too much of the stuff . i collect thru the mail autos with my doubles . my pride and joy though is collecting 1960s graded baseball . right now im working on 1960 topps . well i will add more later . have a great evening all .

dont worry , i would never disrespect anyones choice of collections . im a braves fan , the team that just cant seem to get it done , so i wont bust anyones chops about favorite teams or players .

They had some good playoff runs, they just couldnt finish it. Winning the East all those years is nothing to be ashamed of. My team is the Mets. The Braves had their number for a looong time

Are you doing the entire 60T set or just the keys?

Either way - good luck.

If you're looking for a modern set for next year - the boards kind of light up in Feb when Topps Heritage goes live. There will be a lot of trading. Just something to think about.

If you check, there's a great thread about collecting autos thru the mail.

i did start work on the 2005 topps heritage . nice cards . was thinking on doing all the heritage . i am working on the entire 1960 topps set . the only problem i have is that i want everything , but i do my best to not empty the wallet completely before the bills are paid . i do a little at a time , but patience isnt my strong suit .

by the way , huge fan of john smoltz , next project is a master set of smoltzy . we will see how that goes

If there's one thing I've learned from 25 yrs of collecting - if ya go OCD on collecting...

it'll drive ya crazy! Also, if ya hold on too tight to this stuff - it'll hold onto you.

My simple rules:

1. You can go broke saving money on ebay.
2. If you see a great item that ya just gotta have and don't have the money - wait a while - there'll be another - ebay is loaded with stuff.

Good luck and if ya ever need to vent? This is the place to do it.

You need to learn that time is on your side (easier said than done, I know ). '60s sets get busted up all of the time on eBay, so don't feel the need to go overboard on your first opportunity. The longer it takes to complete, the more you will grow to appreciate your accomplishment when you finally do finish.

Smoltz does not have a player set. (I assume that is what you meant?) On the PSA reg page click on baseball and all the sets are there. If you meant you waqnted a list of all his cards I think Beckett would be the place to go. mycards.com may be a help too

You may have to request a Smoltz set be added.

All the info is on the main page.

all these hello's and welcome's are making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside . me thinks im gonna purchase a box of 06 heritage right now . lets hope i pull something good . gonna check ebay for a few 1960's as well . im not one who needs 9's so should'nt be hard to find a couple to get . im quite happy with 7's and 8's .
