Does paypal have tie-up with yahoo wallet?

Does paypal have anything to do with yahoo wallet? I have yahoo emails but I never joined or paid for any yahoo service. My BA Cr card was charged $1 (still pending transaction posted12/09). I called BA and was told that somebody might have ran a credit card check if the card is ok (you know the similar paypal charge to verify the credit card thingy) and will get credited back. Still it can be used and I don't have and never joined yahoo wallet. I found out that this service will store credit card/billing info, etc. I never joined those kinds of service storing info in some site. Only stored this credit card on paypal site. I don't even store anything of those kind of info in my computer. I was trying to check my citibank CC (I used with paypal and ebay) but info is unavailable at this time and besides they don't post pending transaction.

I would contact YW real quick.

The current PayPal phishing scams are NOT designed to
hijack the PayPal balance. They are being used to get
the info attached to the account; the linked bank account
and the linked credit card numbers. The crooks go in,
record the numbers, and quietly leave without doing
anything else with the PayPal account.

If you clicked on a link in a PayPal phish-mail, that could
be the answer. I would change my PayPal PW, and check
with the bank, if you have a checking-account linked to
    PayPal.

All of that speculation is based on your recollection that
you are CERTAIN you did not sign-up for any Y services.
Overture ads is hooked-up with Y now; if you are dealing
with that keyword seller, that could be the YW connection.

    storm,

I'll watch that new paypal phishing you mentioned.

it's my bank of america credit card. I stored the number long time ago in paypal. The BA customer service rep said there might be a team up of sort between yahoo wallet and paypal that's why they're making a card check/verification. After I browse the search engine and they did have tied-up of sort. I never lost the card and used it for gas, grocery and online at vitminshoppe (don't store any card info here) and paypal (where the only site I store the number). I decided to call Yahoo customer service today and found they have team up of sort but they will not ran a credit verification on any paypal credit card. Yahoo customer rep said somebody entered my credit info and joined the yahoo wallet. I told her I';m at lost since I never joined any paid yahoo service but I have several free yahoo emails. There's no way forme to know and I also mentioned I'm not kin of storing vital info such CC# on online site. They told me to call bank of amer. customer and yahoo cust rep said she will note our conversation down about a possible fraud thing and report to their yahoo wallet dept. She also gave me a ref# about the conversation incase BA asked for it.

I don't answer to any of those fake email stuff and input vital info. I send them to ebay and paypal spoof.

I'll check my citibank CC that is also in that paypal acct.

No $$ in that check acct linked to Paypal unless I issued a check (I put in $$)

I went online at Bank of america credit card acct to see that $1 yahoo wallet bill. Lo and behold I saw a pending charge from 1-800-flowers.com pending. I called bank of america customer rep and mentioned I called about the yahoo wallet and spoke to a lady (and mentioned name). I told them there's another charge. I told them up to where my charge is. I got transferred to fraud dept and waited ages (but I waited since this is impotant). I spoke to a lady and told the whole story again. I told her most charges are grocery, gas and online paypal and the vitamins thingy and never store CC info except paypal. She didn't give me a hard time though she went ahead and cancel the acct. I told her it's better to change the acct# since I never lost the card. She said that's a good idea and will send a new card with new acct# in 5-7 days.

Thank goodness I checked my CC acct.

There must be a security breach in bank of america's site or wherever they stored customer info. The way the lady spoke to me (like she's expecting stuff and no further questions about the charges) and the wait it took me to speak the fraud dept.

Anybody with BA credit card check your accts.

I remember my father had a washington mutual CC acct and somebody made charges and bought computer stuff and CDs from europe. I was handling his bills at the time while his on vacation. I called and told them it's very important and said somebody made some unauthorized charge again. Before he left he just settled an $800 unauthorized charges made to europe and msn internet service.
I found out WaMu didn't change his acct.# They just erased the fraud charges. I told the WaMu rep to cancel and changed acct# because there's no way he could have made a charge (he left me his stuff while on vacation). After several months I read that there's an international WaMu cust rep been caught stealing card# and making purchases using US accts.

I also heard other schemes that these people buys gift cards using stolen CC and sell them on ebay at a discounted price.
