How does the mint operate 2006-2007

I'm rounding out my first year of discovering the mint web site. Do 2006 coins cease to exist on Jan 1 or do they carry them a while.
Reason I'm asking is because I'm going back to the fun zone (Afghanistan) on Tuesday for work and every time I go into theater, either there or Iraq I reward myself for coming home and spend up my per diem and overtime on something nice for myself I wouldn't normally buy.
I want to pick up a Gold Buffalo (Yes, I said Gold Buffalo) for this trips success reward. And I may not be home until right at the end of the year but I don't want to miss out.

The Mint will either sell until their supply runs out or they need the capacity for something else.
So, if they had minted some sets in 2006 that didn't completely sell out, they would allow them to be sold until they did sell out in 2007 or until their replacements come.
The 2005 was removed (until recently) due to the nickels which were only allowed, at the time, to be sold until the end of the year.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
