  • You scans look nice but you need to leave the scanner lid up to make the cards look better.

I agree about either putting black paper on the lid or leaving the door open.

    Nice scans Stown.

BTW, you do know there's a testing forum to work on things? But here is fine with me - this is not a criticism.

Thanks and sorry for testing here. Forgot that I had the testing forum unchecked from my profile. Oops.

Well since I started this thread, might as well continue the testing image Lid open.

BTW - If anyone is curious, it's the Epson Perfection V100 Photo. Got it from Best Buy for $104 but with a 10% discount image

  • Hi Stown,

Can you please tell me how you get your scans to show in your posting like this or where I can read on how to do it? I only found how you can add them as an attachment. I have a couple of cards I would like to post to get opinions on what they might grade by PSA. Your help would be deeply appreciated. Please send reply to flyerfan27@juno.com.

    Thanks, Jim

My wife does the same thing. But my cards never hit the scanning glass.

They are 1955 Topps All-American. I agree...they are cool looking cards!

Let's see if I can do all of this in one post.

WP - Awesome Clemente but he looks really cold. I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands and keep him nice and warm image

TB - No dupes of the 55 Topps, sorry. However, I'm about to upgrade some cards and I'll let you know.

julen - I recently joined PSA so will get the key ones graded, the others most likely will stay raw.

nightcrawler - That is the '55 Topps All-American set and will be the next set I really focus on. The artwork is unique, only 100 cards, and noteable players such as Otto Graham, Sammy Baugh, Red Grange, Jim Thorpe, and the Four Horsemen. I love it image

    Thanks again.

Stown's scans looked so nice, that I decided to run out and get the same scanner. And after seeing how nice PSA graded cards look when they're scanned with the lid up, I decided to go back and re-scan all my other cards (200+). Luckily the scanner is fast, so it shouldn't take very long. The individual files were too large to upload here, but they can be seen in my registry sets. In the following set, the Ripken and Gwynn are scanned with the new scanner (150 DPI, re-sized to 4.5 H, scanned with the lid up). The others in the set, at least for now, were scanned at 300 DPI with the lid down, and re-sized to 3.5 H.

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
