Any thoughts on the 1989 Topps Batting Leaders subset which were inserted into 100 ct cello packs only at K Mart
I do not see a lot of these around. Is this for complete lack of interest or rarity ?

I imagine both reasons is your answer. You do not see them often, and didn't in 1989, but honestly none of the Topps insert sets like that (All-Star, League Leaders, ect.) ever sold well other then special players for player or team collections.
They would make great PSA canidates since they are small sets.

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Those always seemed pretty prone to chip and separate due to the gloss + cutting + flakey backs.
