QX5 Lighting Question

lsicalsica Posts: 1,620 ✭✭✭✭
The biggest problem with photographic images in Super-Macro mode is that the lens needs to be SO close, making it VERY difficult to get lighting done properly

How does the QX5 handle this? From what I can tell the lens needs to be very close to the coin with it, also.
Philately will get you nowhere....

But on the highest magnification the light and the image don't line up well.

I believe I used to have some additional lights from the side to get around the problem.
  • When I need more lighting for my QX I use a desk lamp with a bendable arm and lower the light down even with the coin and aim it at the coin from a side angle. Seems to work ok for me.
