Wow! 5000 Posts! Post a coin to help me celebrate!

fcloudfcloud Posts: 12,133 ✭✭✭✭
In commemoration of making post 5000, I wanted to do more than just reply to someone’s post.

Please post any coin you like from blast white to rainbow and colorful coins to help me celebrate.

I have learned a great deal here, and consider the message board members my friends. I have learned much about coins from you. My passion is Winged Liberty Dimes, and when I first started collecting those dimes, I only wanted Blast White Dimes. Wow, as time changed that. I continue to enjoy white coins, but there are way too many coins in which have been over dipped to a point where the luster is gone. I really enjoy the coins, with a tint of haze or color.

With PCGS now setting up some new rules, these boards will become even more fun for learning than they were. I’m glad David has elected to keep these boards open. I do think these boards have an impact on their bottom line, as there are many people like myself whom only joined to have coins graded after being here for some time. Many of the people spend money on certification or cause other to spend money on certification by many of us being part of the market.

I am going to start with two awesome Mercury Dimes from Message board members.

I think both of these gents are from the Northwest.

Oh and I forgot to post a coin, I don't have any Mercury dimes to post, but how about a transitional Roosevelt dime?

    Tony darn it !!!.......image

I will be in Indiana next week. If some planning on my part would have been done probably 3 or 4 of the Merc guys could have been seen. As it is its a quick training trip that will leave no time to do anything else. I would have loved to see the two coins you have shown here again. You know they were among my all time favorite Mercs that have been owned.

Opps forgot a coin. How about a couple of green colored Roosies.....

    Cheers.

Fcloud, instead of making us work, why don't you celebrate by giving one of those shiny little buggers away?image

Cladiator, if you owned that one, all the rest of the half dimes would be easy in comparison! image

The same could be said about Tony's 1919S Merc as was said about the half dime. If every set had it the rest of the Mercs for the set would be easy. The coin is a MS66 that is a just miss full band coin. The 19S in the Merc series is the third toughest to find in full bands. Tony's picture is a tad dark and the coin is a real blazer with a touch of blue tone.

Congrats on making it to 5,000!

Same coin, first shot is a luster shot, the second is a color shot.

    Congrats!

In keeping with your Merc dime theme, here's one from my recent 30th anniversary giveaway.

In fact, it just arrived from Heritage and needs to be shipped off to the person who won it.
