15k Gold coin dropped into Salvation Army kettle!

A 2 and a half dollar gold coin from 1908 worth up to 15k was dropped into a salvation army kettle recently.

The Indian head coin I think was in a slab too.

Something like that seems to happen every year. Off the top of my head, I recall someone in Florida dropped a gold Krugerand (sp?) into a kettle a couple years ago.

When you think about it, it's actually a wonderful and clever gesture. The Salvation Army gets a large donation if they sell the piece and they get a ton of publicity when the media talks about it.

Now, the real question is, was it in a PCGS or NGC slab? *grin*
