Coker's Defensive Coordinator Randy Shannon ....
You mean to tell me this guy had all the answers all along and kept them from Coker? WOW, this program is on the verge of going away forever. I wonder if they really could not find anyone to taje this job or did Miami just choose the cheap way out?
Here's a program that won 5 NCAA football championships in 25 years through 4 head coaches, and they can't attract a top coaching candidate - what am I missing? I admit I'm not a Miami fan so I don't follow them closely other than the headline stuff but wtf? Are they really that bad of a program or is the President and AD just bafoon?
Oh well, so long Miami - RIP!

Thanks for your reply, now I am much more informed....
<< <i>Oh I see now, they went with a defensive coordinator to improve the offense. Of course a guy like Mike Leach or Rich Rodriguez could not do that because after all their defenses was not in the top 10 5 of 6 years and they were considered offensive gurus.

That's what offensive coordinators are for. Head coaches on every level rely on their coordinators to call plays on both sides of the ball.
but then I am sure you knew that, right?
