Help with the grade - 1938-D Lincoln

I purchased this coin off Teletrade in a PCGS MS67RD holder. I don't think it is worth the grade. What do you think?

I will send back to PCGS if people agree that it's not a 67rd.

  • Looks like it once was a 67, but it has since turned in the holder.

This may have been the way PCGS graded many years ago, but not today!

Not if that is a huge reverse scratch.
  • WOW. That coin, if submitted today with the toning and spots...would be lucky to get a 66. I'm not sure how the grade guarantee works with toning, spots, etc. Can someone expand on that?

No disrespect to you options26, but why would you buy it if the spots are plain as day in the photos? I'm figuring you must have ripped it pretty good?

  • The pictures on Teletrade didn't seem this bad. And yes any comments on how to proceed to return the coin to PCGS would be appreciated. Thanks all.
