Mastro Tonight

Pre-war stuff selling extremely well, looks like people completely ignoring the new BP. The later stuff is getting hit a bit though- what do you guys think of this? Seems a bit low with that many 9's and seemingly strong condition across the board. I promise I won't bid on it (in fact, I can't since I didn't place a pre-9pm bid).

I have trouble seeing the graded cards.

Is this as big as it gets?

Plus, one can't see most of the set - isn't this a gamble?

I've always felt that most of what people say about the grades can be dropped 1 to 2 grades.

So this: Grades 77% NM to NM/MT

    could be overgraded?

So, given that - I believe it could be a bargain and maybe not?

Most of the lots I had been interested in are now out of my budget range. I'm the high bidder on one item, although I dobt it will hold.
    Who is Rober Maris?

Mastro is totally overpriced (20% premium is very greedy) and they over grade the raw material in their sets. They very slyly list nmt - nmtmt with out breaking out the near mint crap vs the nmt-mt good stuff. Huge difference in price between nmt and nmt-mt. Not only that, they pick through every card and they know full well what is low pop and what isn't. So hey, I don't have to bid right ? Well, I don't, plenty of other good auction houses out there. chaz
