Quinn was invited last year and has a chance to be the number one draft pick and you think its absurb that a sophomore running back wasn't also picked. Please explain your rationale as to comparing him with Brady Quinn.

Do you seriously think that if Peterson were healthy Slaton would be drafted ahead of him or the kid from Arkansas?

I believe that an invitation list of only three candidates is incomplete. Anyone who doesn't bear the name Troy Smith, has known for quite some time that they won't win the award! I just firmly believe that there is another candidate or two who should have been invited! As long as it's a done deal why not extend the honor of being invited? This is the second consecutive year of there being only three invitees which I do believe is absurd!

That I would agree with, but once again what does Brady Quinn have to do with Slaton?

McFadden and Smith are in a class of their own. When you drop down to the next tier then names like Quinn, Slaton (even as a soph), and Johnson start to get mentioned!

Ah I get it another ND envy basher. You really think Quinn is a level down from Smith? You think you know more than the folks who hand out the Maxwell Trophy for player of the year? You think you know more than the voters who twice nominated Quinn for the Heisman and do you know more than the pro-scouts who say he will be drafted in the top 5 and maybe #1?

Sorry I appreciate your faith in Slaton, but lets's be a little less hateful of ND and more realistic.

As far as Quinn......he WILL be taken ahead of Smith in the draft barring some freak accident/injury and probably in the top 3.

I watched the award show the other nite (Fri?) and both Quinn and Smith showed a lot of class and gave each other a LOT of respect, that is deserved with the numbers that BOTH of them put up this year.

I think the way that they showed all of the candidates while announcing the winner was pretty lame....almost like they were trying to catch one of them complaining....but it never happened. (edited to clarify....the ESPN award show on Thurs or Fri nite)
