Thanks to bobsbbcards

I wanted to pass on a very positive experience I had with a fellow board member. I haven't had many dealing with many board members in regards to buying, selling or trading and I don't know how well this person is know or whatever. I was looking into some 1985 topps mini for my player sets and the only ones I could find on EBay were going for what I considered excessive prices. Well after a bit of research and talking with this board member I resolved myself to keep on searching. Three months later I get a message from bobsbbcards to tell me he found his 85 minis and if I still wanted them I could have them. I was extremely pleased. I offered to pay for them and shipping and he sent them for free. I'm sure this kind of thing happens all the time but it made my day and made me think of all the reasons I got into this in the first place. For the enjoyment of collecting and the commaraderie of fellow collectors. There needs to be more people like this that do things for others for the good of the hobby and not to make a buck. Just my two cents. Thanks Bob

    Great gesture by Bob!

Did he send you all the minis he had--or just specific ones you needed for your player collections?

(I need 3 cards from that set myself).image
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

Bob is one of the best in the hobby. A truly knowledgable collector with a fantasticly extensive collection.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • BEWARE !!!

Bob gives away baseball bards for the sole purpose of determining your address.

He then goes to your house in the middle of the night and steals your entire collection leaving only the cards he sent you as his calling card.

He's evil. Lock your doors and hide your cards.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

You are all too kind. I be blushing. image

    Robbie,

I'll try and find some rare/unusual/interesting stuff to throw up here on the boards over the holidays (that didn't sound right). As far as '60s Wheaties stuff, the only thing I have are the '64 Wheaties Stamps. I forced myself not to collect the Wheaties cereal boxes, as cool as they are, because they aren't listed as baseball cards in the SCD big book. Bishop and I both use that as our guide/checklist, and we pray that each year there aren't too many "impossible" items added to it. image

I hope you all have a (politically incorrect alert) Merry Christmas,
