Update - - 1889-O Morgans Oval O VAM 2

In a recent thread I posted pictures of two unattributed 1889-O Morgans, one in an ANACS MS61 holder, and one in an ANACS MS63 holder. I picked these up on ebay and Heritage for common money, but thought they might be rare Oval O VAMs. Some board members had doubts, and asked that I provide an update once PCGS graded/attributed them. Well, I just got the grades:

Coin#1 was in an ANACS 61 holder, so I cracked it out and submitted raw - - here is the result:

I had been looking for UNC Oval O's for some time without success, and then found two in one week. Now PCGS has graded a total of 4 uncirculated specimens, including these two. The MS64 that Jack Lee cherrypicked is still the finest known

Awesome. I just found a VAM-2 but it is around G6, nowhere close to MS. You got great grades, relative to the original ANACS ones, beyond that too!

Maybe its just my imagination, but I think that most raw ANACS 61's come back as PCGS 62's, and, conversely, most ANACS 65's come back as PCGS 64's. That's why I cracked out the 61. I firmly believe that if I had sent in the 61 as a straight crossover, then it would now be in a PCGS 61 holder (vs. the 62 that it is in).
