Do these look 8 (OC) to you?

Guys,

Just got these two cards back in a recent sub --- didn't think they would get the dreaded (OC) label. Any chance they pass if, say, they were given a "second chance" ???

    They are pretty close to borderline, but shouldn't have gotten a qualifier. How is the centering on the back?

    Sawyer has virtually same back as front l/r
    Lavagetto is beautiful on back --- near 50/50

    ... though it's hard to tell b/c these MGR cards have pretty much a comic book only back with no border.

    They look OC to me. Check out the top to bottom centering its like 80/20 at best.

    They present very well as such but are OC

    Your Sawyer could get a straight 8 on a different day. Both could get straight 7s. Ignore the pennant and look at the bottom border. Are "Manager" and the team name about the same distance away from the edge as the left and right borders?

    Here's a current eBay auction and one from 707. Centering looks about the same as your Sawyer.

    Thanks for all the responses guys .... I agree that it is definitely borderline at best. However, I have at least two other MGR cards with almost identical appeal and they are slabbed 8's ...

    I'll keep you guys posted on this thread if I ever do re-submit.

    I resubmitted the Sawyer:

    Will post a scan when it arrives in the next day or so.

    I will now likely resubmit the Cookie sometime in the future.
