Strategy with Mastronet Auctions?

A lot of stuff is rare, but a lot of it are recycled 8's and 9's from star cards from the 50's and 60's that are not difficult to find. Since you cannot bid in reasonable incriments like an e-bay auction e.g. 1000 then 1050 then 1100 etc. it becomes a serious chunk to raise it to the next level. If you see something for a $1000 your next bid is actually $1320+shipping in real dollars. That is a 32% increase. With the huge juice in the auction houses there comes a time when they have probably priced themselves out of having people bid on their cards, by their own greed. I remember when Superior was still in business they had small incriments for their raises. It actually encouraged more bids. If you can find that point where your bid is under or near the value of the card, but the next bid at 10% puts the card no longer in the bargain mode you can still get a decent buy.
