Newby questions about submissions

Hello all!!!

I am new to PSA and not sure how to get started. I have a few questions if someone can help.

1. When does the POP report get updated?
2. Is there additional price breaks on submissions for major bulk (500 cards, 1000 cards, etc)?
3. How do we submit major bulk? Same as small qtys? Load each card into a card saver?
4. On your public Fridays, do you grade the cards while the customer waits?
5. What is the limit on submissions on public Fridays?

Obviously I have alot of cards that I want to submit, but not real sure how to go about it.

Any free advise out there?

I would only submit a few at a time until you get your eye accustomed to PSA's grading standards. Especially because the 1971's you have in your store that have PSA in the title don't look so hot.

If you send in 20-30 at a time, you probably will find much better success because you will know what you maybe shouldn't send in.

    now, on to your questions:

    1. When does the POP report get updated?

once a week and I believe it is on Tuesdays

    2. Is there additional price breaks on submissions for major bulk (500 cards, 1000 cards, etc)?

You'll have to contact PSA about that directly but from what I have heard, yes.

    3. How do we submit major bulk? Same as small qtys? Load each card into a card saver?

Same way. Card Saver is a for sure.

    4. On your public Fridays, do you grade the cards while the customer waits?

I don't know, but I think you just can submit them in person and they do not grade them while you wait.

    5. What is the limit on submissions on public Fridays?

    Don't know.

    Welcome Wheatstate!

I have only been a member a short time. If you come to these boards, the advice is free. But good advice will cost you.

    1. I think it gets updated once a month. Maybe twice. I have not been around long enough. But the POPs will be skewed as there is some cracking and resubmitting of graded cards. e.g. crack an 8 in hopes of a 9. If it comes back an 8 again, there is really only 1 eight, but PSA will think there is 2 8s.

    2. Not sure on SUPER bulk discounts. I don't have the coin to do that big. I would have assumed that you would have inquired before joining.

    3. All will have to be in card savers. Unless you want to out the stickers directly on the card. Have you viewed the submission walkthrough? If not, this may help you more.

    4. I think this is drop off only (saves you postage to PSA). You may get grades at a show they attend, but not sure how that works or what level you have to submit. The have a schedule of the shows they attend.

5.Not sure there is any limit on drop offs.

  • I guess I should have been a little more clear. I have been a member of PSA for a couple months now. I joined to submit cards for my own collection. I have submitted around 75 cards so far and received 8's or above on all but one. However, I have just joined this wonderful forum and have gained alot of knowledge already from you great collectors.

Cool, so you have been training your eye. I would call PSA and ask them what they would do price-wise for a 1000 card submission and so on.
