Kobe and PAndrews has widely been reported as one and the same guy.

He has a long history of trying to antagonize me and of course this is why he did it--this time I let him get to me--

    Other than that carry on.

As a person in Minnesota who doesn't have the travel or time budget to get to any real card shows, I prefer people who contribute to the message boards.

    In no particular order:

dav - I'd like to hear more about cards than we sometimes get though.
softparade - The '78s thread has been good all year.
arny - solid contributions to the '72 and '84D threads.
bobsbbcards - always a pleasure to read and learn from.
knuckles - Cool cut sig project.
skinpinch - for his unrelenting quest to pound common sense into some fans
stalin - strictly entertainment, but also for opening many eyes to heritage
I'm sure I'm forgetting many, so I'll bulk list the large group of people who post scans and submission results.

Ha ha--can anybody guess why Carew-4-Me is copying my signature--or to put another way can anyone guess that Carew doesn't like me because I stole his signature?
  • I've asked several registry folks to provide me scans and/or information appearing on cards in their sets and none has been helpful. So, perhaps a more intriguing question would be: "Who are the most considerate collectors in the hobby?"

Curious as to what data Kobe used to determine the top ten collectors. By applying his formula, maybe we can figure where Davalillo fits in. If its Set Registry awards and rankings, someone please do the calculations.

Dav - ignore these silly rankings.

You're a lock #1 all-time finest in slabbed weight and that's all that matters. By my calculations you have over 1500 lbs in slabbed cards alone. I challenge any collector to match that.

In the future maybe psa will offer a #1Ton award!

  • The fact that these have the $$$ and time to amass such collections is staggering....but everyone bows down to them like they are celebrities...

You want to talk IMPORTANT......think out of the box...think of the guys who are constantly supplying these people...

    what is their "stock" worth??

and what about the people who (God forbid) don't even care about grading!!

I know a couple of lawyers locally that would give any one of these collections a run for their money....if they cared to grade their collections.

The same names get put up in the limelight all the time......something for everyone else to strive for, I guess.

As for me...the awards are paper...
    I've made #1 sets...#2 sets...multiple sets...and always sell them off.......to who.....usually big name people....lol

Could I sit on sets and build up a huge collection...yes, of course.

I'd rather see the $$$ flow.....
Besides...with 10K to grade right now...I need more cash flow anyways!!

But in all honesty, the big names are all great guys....I've dealt with most of them..at one time or another.... and several of them quite freqeuntly...
But we all put our pants on one leg at a time....does it really matter who has the biggest and best collection....or who spends more than the other....

It only matters to those who have time for such technicalities...

Good Point. I happen to buy privately "ungraded" cards for a Movie Director in Southern California. What he has in safety deposit box i could retire on. If he graded those, i could retire several times..
  • You are missing a very big person on this list that would go just under Marshal Fogel and that is Stuckmeyer. Even though he is not a PSA guy and a SGC person his collection is very impressive. Check out their registry and see for yourself.
If they are in the Hall they are in my collection
  • Just take a look at his 1914 & 15 CJ collections...he is the one who bought the find last year with the mint cards.

Anyone who spends $800k+ on a set should be in the conversation...not to mention the rest of his incredible collection.

Randy Stuckemeyer only collects SGC cards. If we are talking about overall rankings, he would certainly rank in the top three.
