Vince Young ROY?

Has any rookie had a bigger impact.

Titans are 5-4 with VY starting and should've been 7-2 if they hadn't choked to the ravens and the colts the first time.

It was definitely going to be Colston before he got hurt. I think the top three will be, in no particular order, Bush, VY, and Colston...

Titans got beat by the better teams. You can call it choking, but with a 5-4 record, I would say they just lost to the better team.

Vince will proabaly win the ROY if ballots were cast today, but he's just another quaterback caught in the M. Vick mold and will never lead a team to a super bowl victory

Nah, no way he wins ROY.

Even if Colston doesn't play another down, how can you discount his numbers?

Top 15 in the league in yards, 6th in TDs.

Vince Young's passer rating is the second worst in the league, the only one worse is Andrew Walter in Oakland!

How can you say they should be 7-2? He's thrown as many picks as TDs (10), and his completion percentage is just above 50% (50.2).

Colston and Bush have had far, far greater impact as rookies than Young.

VY is allowing his awful team to win games....

As far as getting beat by better teams, theres no doubt, however the titans were up by 20ish agains the ravens and were up by 6 against the colts at the end of the game.

Colston also has a great Coach, QB, Running Game in mccalister and a 2nd wr in joe horn. VY has nobody of note on his team. Also without reggies 4 td yesterday he had 2 tds...

    Vince is something special.

He may not have the most accurate arm.

He may not be the fastest person on the field.

He may not make the best decisions every time.

He may not have a decent score on the Wonderlic Test.

But, he does have "it"; eBay should make him their spokesman.

Bush hasn't done squat all year. One good game against one of the leagues worst teams does not justify ROY. If the season ended today and Bush won, that makes the award a popularty contest and not what happens on the field.

Demeco Ryans should win ROY on defense. image

Yes, and we heard the same exact things about Michael Vick...how's that worked out for the Falcons?

I said Colston would be the ROY, not Bush. But to sit there and say someone has 'it' when he's the worst rated starting QB in the league is pure folly.

  • AJ Hawk is starting to play a lot better. He ranks up there in total tackles with over a hundred and 3 or 4 sacks. That's on a team with no defense at all, so he's hangin' in there. No really ROY worthy yet, but if nobody else is doing much......
  • Ok this kid has won another game on his shoulders and is 6-4 should be 8-2 if his defense doesn't choke two big games away(ravens and colts both losses by 1 pt) He may not put up HUGE stats but he wins games and makes big plays.... Anyone else think this kid shouldn't get it.

<< <i>Ok this kid has won another game on his shoulders.... >>

Actually the Texans and their typical "play it not to lose" 4th quarter and OT defense lost this game more than VY won it. I've seen enough Texans games to know the difference, and this one was a textbook Texans loss which includes leading for much (if not most) of the game followed by a soft pass defense in the 4th quarter and beyond to allow the other teams to score -- just a little more slowly. But score they inevitably will.

This is quite simply a franchise that doesn't know how to win, even when they should win.

Ya Vy's 50 yard game winning run was pretty sick though.
  • I could give a crap about his qb rating as long as he keeps winning games and leading the team like he is right now. I think the "it" everyone talks about is a combination of his leadership skills and confidence in him self. I have been amazed watching him this year take a team that had a ton of problems both on field and off and turning them into a team that is winning and having fun. Better receivers would boost that rating also. You would not believe the number of perfectly placed long tds that have just simply been dropped this year.

Saying VY has nobody else of note on his team isn't right either. Pacman Jones has had a heavy hand in most of the Titan's wins this season also.

I'm not so sure Bush deserves mention for ROY - overall, he has been disappointing so far. I'm sure he'll be a bigger force, though, down the road once he gets more playing time.

Maroney has been more exciting than Bush, for that matter - so has Jones-Drew and Jerious Norwood.

I would say that Jones-Drew has been much more effective than Reggie Bust. Sometime it looks like the Saints are trying to force something to Bush, unlike Jones-Drew, who excels in the team concept.

If Vince leads the Titans to a .500 record, it will be tough to pass him up as ROY. QB is a much more difficult position than WR or RB, and he is doing a good job leading the offense.
