1873 Closed 3 Proof vs. Business strike Seated Quarter.
I have an 1873 closed 3 quarter that I was interested in showing to the forum. I believe it is a proof. I have included some images to help anyone who has the knowledge to say, definitively, that it is a proof. If nothing else, this can provide some images for anyone else interested in the attributing the 1873, closed 3 quarters.

The die cut in the reverse shield is diagnostic.

What he said. That reverse die with the die gouge on the left edge of the shield was used on Proof quarters from about 1871 to about 1880.
