Can anyone help me out?

I would like to request a PSA member's assistance in submitting a 52 Bowman Mantle card for a re-grade. I am putting together a 52 Bowman set (psa graded) with no qualifier. I bought a Mantle from a dealer with SGC slab, had him cross it over for me, and it came out as a PSA 4 MK. I don't see any mark on the card. Since I'm not a member and don't want to pay the fee just to get a card re-graded (with no guarantee that it will come back with no qualifier), I would like to see if any member would submit it on my behalf. Obviously, I'll pay ALL the shipping and grading fees and an additional $10 for handling fee via paypal. I'm a pretty trusting person and assume you won't pocket my card :-) I will assume all liability (lost, damage...etc.) and any member who doesn't mind helping me out, please contact me.

Thanks!

Sorry that happened to you. The mark may have been erased?

You can contact any authorized PSA dealer and they can submit it for you.

Also, you can contact Joe Orlando and ask him to review it for you too.

edit: I too have a Bowman set. It is my favorite set. Are you aware that The werle card has 2 distinct variations?

    What was the SGC grade?

It could be a small pencil/pen mark or evidence of one prior. SGC does not use qualifiers and with the exception of MK, I am not a fan of qualifiers.

  • I'm thinking that the mark must have been erased too. The SGC grade was 40, I believe. It was equivalent to a PSA 3, and that's what I anticipated when the dealer submitted the cross-over for me. The dealer was helpful and after I learned it was a PSA 4 (MK), I didn't want to be a pain and say "Err, please re-submit with no qualifier..."

I remember a PSA article about the Werle card. I'm surprised they haven't made a 52 Bowman Master Set with that card included.

Thanks for the info guys as I will contact an authorized dealer. Base on your opinion and experience, does PSA re-grade a card and take the grade down a notch to omit an MK qualifier? I know they do it for OC, MC...etc. Thanks!!!
