"My Cost"?

Hi, Everyone.

I'm getting my registered Mercuries (a short set and a long set) online, and I was wondering what I could do to edit the "My Cost" field in the inventory. I would like to keep track of the going PCGS price and my cost for the coin, but I can't seem to find a way to edit. Thanks!
If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.

Go to view coin. Then edit coin and you can enter your cost, and if wanted current value, or just leave as 0 for the PCGS price guide.

Is there a way to track "my cost" by individual set or only by complete "inventory"?
If anybody knows I'd appreciate the tip.

    Go to my sets.
Select the set you want to track.
Then select the What if option.
It will give you total; cost.

Sorry I was wonge above it gives you the PCGS price guide value. Not your actual cost.

O.K., Syl thanks for the assist.
When I do that I still get cost = 0 and I get a "total price" from the price guide.
Do think this a problem with my set only?

edited: O.K. I'll inquire of PCGS.

    LindeDad is pretty close.
I have been able to enter cost or value by doing the following:
    Edit Set/My Inventory/View Coin/Edit/ enter values here / Update.

What a pain to enter the numbers - you have to do it one coin at a time. And with all the screens you have to go through, it takes alot of time, even on high speed.

I wish there was a way to batch enter the data, a bit like the way you could batch enter info in the old system.

I am hoping there is a way to do this faster - I just haven't found it yet.

    Gil,
Currently the capability to drtermine your cost and PCGS price is only available for your total inventory. It would be nice to have this information by each set registry also. The best person to tell us if this might be "in the works" would be BJ.

To enter your cost into the inventory it IS one coin at a time. It does take lots of time. Maybe they are working on that improvement also.

That is a bummer - I have six pages of data to enter. I haven't even got the first page entered yet after two sessions. image

Just an FYI for anyone interested.
BJ says the cost, "total cost", is only available currently in "My Inventory" and not on a set by set basis.

She mentioned that she would look into adding costs within the sets. Anyone else think that would be a worthwhile feature?

A big YES this is where any of use have to sart our thinking if it becomes time to sell.

  • Hey All -

We've added this feature now. You can now view cost/value based on an individual set.

    Thanks!

  • So does that mean that PCGS has access to our information when and if we enter what our cost is for each coin in our inventory? I would guess that they do...it's their site and they can collect any info that they want.

If that is the case, WOULD they consider using this information to help update their PCGS Price Guide? Or would that information not be reliable enough (if people were not honest about what they paid, etc.)?????

    Some food for thought. image

Probably not is my guess. Not everyone is going to use the "My Cost" feature. I'm sure it's a yawner for some.

My Cost can be quit different for different people. What If I get real lucky and send in Kennedy from a $4.oo mint set and hit a MS67. The next guy might have to go though a hundred sets. And the next guy might just buy it on eBay. So each of use has a different cost. But the value of the coin is what we can sell it for. And if we are really lucky some times that might actually be somewhere close what the PCGS price guide says.

And a big imageto the guys and gals at customer service for the new feature.
