This card is in a bgs slab

Why isnt bgs 9.5 in the title or description? I wonder what this seller is trying to do?I checked the beckett pop report and there is only one graded bgs gold card period.
Is he trying to show a mint card and send a lesser quality card instead?
I want the card but this is bothering me.

Don't you already have one of those? I've seen that card before so it immediately makes me think it was from you.

<< <i>Matt, did you ask the seller? Could be on the up-and-up and the seller just has some bizarre notion about how to maximize profit. I admit, I don't get it but I certainly would ask him before bidding.

Nope, it hasnt. The two "bars" you see at the top edge and bottom edge are the inside borders of the mylar baggy bgs cards have. At the top its glowing green from the scan.
That is why Im wondering why its a bgs card but not advertised as such

Either way, congratualtions! That's a pretty cool looking card and it seems to me like you got it for a steal.

PS. They didn't, by any chance, make a Mosi Tatupu in that set, did they?

Something tells me you're not getting a BGS graded card. And, while I admit that the bars at the T/B of the card suggest it is in a slab, couldn't it be due to scanner artifact or a million other things?
<< <i>Matt, for some reason I had it in my head that there were only something like thirty of these? Is that right? Did I read that here in a thread or is that just my years of abusing Jack Daniels finally catching up with me?

No, it was a bgs card as I said.
Here is what happened. I set my snipe and won the card even though I knew it was in a bgs slab.
The seller emailed me back last night but I didnt get the email till after the auction ended.
He said I was correct, that in fact the card pictured is the only bgs card out there but this auction is for the raw card he has as well. I emailed him back asking why he didnt use the actual scan of the actual card he was selling fully aware that he was using a better conditioned card for the auction and would try to send a lesser quality card to the buyer.
I told him he can shove his card up his butt and I would not be paying for the auction unless I am sent the card pictured in the auction.
I am waiting for his reply. I cant believe what dirtbags will do to try and make a few bucks.

I found a few sellers on eBay do this. Picture a better card then what they actually are selling. When I am interested in a card on eBay and if the listing does not say anything about getting the item pictured. I then always email the seller asking if the item pictured is the actual item the winning bid gets. If they do not answer the question or come back with it is not the item pictured I always move on. I found on eBay that an item like it will be listed again by a different seller sooner or later. You just have to have patients. Good luck with this seller.
If something does not seem right to you on an eBay listing it usually isn't. Always get your questions answered before bidding. If the answer does not come back in time do not bid on the item. This will save you a lot of aggravation. I hope it all works out for you with this seller.
Take care,
Jim

Hey Jim
I wanted the card but after I realized it was scam, I just wanted to have some fun. The seller got back to me and after he realized I knew what he was up to, he told me not to worry about paying for it and that he would just relist it. Well, duh, thats what was gonna happen anyway
I also got him to email me scans of the two cards. The first one (bgs card) is the card he used for the auction photo and the raw card is the one he was gonna pass off to the buyer.

<< <i>Isn't that a decent price ($45) for the card pictured? Looks like a PSA 9 to me. >>
I thought it looked like a 9 as well. If the auction was done correctly, not with deceit as the seller chose to use, I would be willng to buy the raw one. He offered it to me for $35.00.

Great catch with the colors at the top and bottom of the card to catch what this seller was doing. With the 2 pictures you have posted I can see what you were seeing all along. A seller will have to get up way earlier then this guy did to slip something past you. I am glad it all worked out for you. You did a good thing too. You stopped another buyer from getting ripped off buying this card who didn't know what this seller was doing. I have to admit I had to read pretty far into your thread to figure out what you were talking about. Again; great job!
Take care
Jim
