I need help....Russ are you out there !

I bought e-bay item #290055853252 , recieved a cast copy fake mailed from
China . I tried to file a dispute with e-bay , but it has not been 10 days .

Looking at the sellers completed auctions I found that e-bay member "mshamlet"
bought item #290055739979..............The same picture , I sent him an e-mail
and I'm waiting for a reply .

I paid thru paypal , with a credit card .

Should I stop payment with my visa or wait the 10 days to talk to a computer ?

I don't need all of the buyer beware stuff , or too good to be true .
I went with feedback , location of seller (bs) , and picture .
Hit the bin , and got burned .
This guy is out there doing this under other Id's as well
item #230059924565 was the same line of bs , but now i can't find it

  • Hi, Dan.

Sorry to hear that this happened to you. That guy's auctions look familiar. We were talking about that auction last week. I guess our fears were well-founded. Sorry. image

I would try dealing with the seller first. If you don't get satisfaction from him (which you probably won't, honestly) then I'd contact PayPal. They should reverse the payment. (They're very good that way, I've heard.)

    I wish you luck!

Wait the ten days, file dispute. I believe you have 30 days to dispute through your CC so if you don't get anywhere, you could go that route within the window, but part of your agreement with PayPal is that you will not dispute PayPal charges with your CC company, but go through them. You could have your PP account closed if you do. Even if you lose the dispute with PayPal (if it's counterfeit, you'd likely win), you're only out fourty bucks. That's a pretty cheap education.

edited to add: if the seller cannot be reached at the phone number and address on file with eBay, you'll pretty much automatically win and the guy will have his ebay account yanked as well, so if he really is in China, that's an added bonus.

Considering you got screwed with a fake I wouldn't wait until canceling payment. The seller will tell ebay what they sent you was real. They could have inadvertently posted the same picture twice in error and sent off 2 different coins. What did mshamet get?

So what if you lose paypal privileges? Sounds like more chance to get screwed by paypal than any other means.

BTW, that's a hijacked seller account.

We were talking about it last week? Is that how you noticed it, Dan? Maybe you have a claim against the forum.

Are you saying that you received a coin from China in four days? I can't get that kind of service from across town!image

PS: Since this is a hijacked account, you need to file a PayPal claim immediately and hope his PayPal account hasn't already been drained.
