Miscut?

What does PSA mean by miscut on this card? The back is almost perfectly centered, so it's not that. It may not be the best centering on the front, but miscut? Shouldn't you see part of another card for a miscut label?

  • N-8 Miscut - This term is used when the factory cut is an abnormal cut. The grading fees are returned. You will be given a voucher good for another submission for the same type of service.

I'm thinking that it has more to do with the shape of the card rather than the centering. The right side looks like it may flare out a bit at the top.

  • If I lay the card on it's side on a flat surface there is just the slightest bit of light showing, I mean just a hair. Is that enough for a miscut?

Well, I wouldn't think so, but I've been surprised before. You might try resubmitting it with your next order.

  • match it up to a stack of 1963 cards and see if it's the same size as the others. It was marked an N-8 miscut by PSA because the card was not cut correctly by the factory. A MC is the same as OC, whereas you see part of another card. Your card is not the correct size, according to PSA.
