Collecting Minnie Minoso Master and Basic 1967 Topps PSA 8+ 1960's Topps run Mega Set "For me, playing baseball has been like a war and I was defending the uniform I wore, Every time I put on the uniform I respected it like the American flag. I wore it like I was representing every Latin country."--Minnie Minoso
I agree though, the slight touches will keep it from a 9. The centering and surface are beautiful on that card. Its probably better than most 9's in that regard.
"The other teams could make trouble for us if they win." -- Yogi Berra
Without a doubt a beauty of a card and a real challange in itself for any 62 to capture an 8.Leave it alone and be satisfied "GREAT CARD"tiny specks at corners keeps it from a 9.
Once again I think you guys are right on the money. I'll leave it as is. Bosox, you said it best - "Looks like a classic 8.5 - too nice for an 8, not quite a 9".
<< <i>Yup, beautiful card! I would leave it as is. The corners on the bottom will prevent it from getting a 9.
Not to hijack this thread, but has anyone resubmitted a card and got a lower grade? >>
Yes --- literally YESTERDAY on my recent sub. Cracked out a PSA 7 '60 Topps World Series Card in hopes of an 8. Somehow it came back a 6. It is DEFINITELY not a 6. Here's a scan.

That's amazing - the first card looks to have fewer print dots and similar centering, maybe even better color. Maybe the slightly rough edge on top dropped the grade or is that just from the scan? Keep me in mind for any year World Series cards if you have them (up til 1968 anyway).

The GM5 card does have a rough cut on the top edge and I'd say slightly worse centering .... but no way one is an 8 and the other a 6. Honestly, I think they are both low-end 8 candidates --- which is why I re-submitted the GM5 card in the first place.
I bought both raw on ebay, by the way.

I love resubmitting cards. If they look as good as we think then why not crack and send in again??? I am actually looking over some graded cards to crack and send in for my 6 freebies.
Recent crack outs 57 Aaron PSA 6 to 7 57 Bunning PSA 7 to 8 57 Clemente PSA 7 to 8(took two trys) 75 Carew PSA 8 to 9 59 Aaron PSA 7 to not holdered miscut (twice)
That's a beautiful Drysdale 8 at the top of the thread. I would probably try once for the crack and resub because it's such a strong 8 that you know that you'll end up with at least an 8. I need an 8 of this card to upgrade my Drysdale basic set....so, if you want to get rid of it...

I can't part with it, it's just too sweet... Just bought '65 and '66 Drysdale 8's. You have one heck of a Drysdale collection! Question for you - if you join the PSA registry, how do they know you own the cards?

I'd keep the high end 8.

VERY happy about this --- pop is only around 25 for this one.
Guess I'll try again on the other WS card --- should be able to get it at least back to its 7 status.
BBNE ---- building a '60 Topps set. Need both cards. I'll keep you in mind if I'm able to upgrade though!
