Common/uncommon dates combinations

How many different coins of the same year/mint are common for one denomination and rare for another denomination? i.e.

1878-S Silver dollar, very common
1878-S Half Dollar, a key coin and very rare in all grades

1804 Half Cent, very common
1804 Silver Dollar, the key to the series and very rare in all grades.

Isn't the 1834 half common but the dime is not? I think that is why I haven't finished that year set.

The 78S quarter is no slouch either. I found one with a metal detctor, and know a guy who found a 78S half with his metal detector. The same site that I found the 78S quarter at, a buddy of mine found an 81CC $5 gold piece in XF to AU condition!!

Those are some nice finds, especially the 1878-S half. What condition were the quarter and half, and are either for sale?
