Should I complete my PR69 Modern Comm set?

I am at about 79% completle with my Modern PR69 comms. However I am having a hard time trying to pay 250.00 for the 1995 Torch and 300 and up of the other $5 comms. Does anyone feel these coins will drop and I should spend my money elsewhere? I really want to complete my set but at those prices?

  • Several year ago, I completed both the MS69 and PR69DCAM sets for the modern commems. Unfortunately I sold them a couple of years ago. I started another set of $5 gold in MS69 and the prices were higher than I sold mine for. But gold was also 25% higher. If you think gold is going up, I'd buy now. If you think gold is going down, wait. Personally, I'd selectively purchase now. The torch can be found at "bargain" prices if you are willing to search for them.
  • Do you have any other sets, or goals, you are working on? Have you ever completed a set? If the answer to both those questions is no I would complete the set. Then you can sell and do something else...
  • NO!

You could always see what some of your coins would bring in, in cash, then decide.

Dropping $250-300 for the keys to a set is not (relatively speaking) bad.
Do you know what the pops are for the Torch & the others in PR69?

Collecting the coins that you enjoy and stick with it.
If you are looking to collect only coins were the Keys are not expensive in decent grades, try the non FS Jefferson & non FB Roosies.

The beauty about commems is each is different.
