SSP: My coin picture gallery web site

I've finally gotten around to spending some time actually adding pictures of coins to coinpictures.com. Amazing, eh?
There are now pictures of over 500 coins, all coins that are either currently in my collection, or ones that I have owned and then traded or sold.
I've redone the site so there is now a page for the newest additions, as well as a page for all my certified coins.
Clicking on thumbnails throughout the site will pop up a smaller window with the full-sized images.
No real functionality or purpose to the site... just boatloads of pictures.
Feedback and suggestions appreciated.

The only suggestion that I can think of, is to have the obverse and reverse of each coin joined in one single photo.

I'm afraid to be alive without being aware of it

Fine. Make more work for me whydontcha...
It's a good idea. My biggest concern is those people using smaller monitor resolutions. A 500x500 image is one thing. When you double it to 1000x500, that pushes the limits of some people's displays; unwieldy for people running at 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution. When you display a 1000x500 image you force those who can't see the whole image to scroll left-to-right (which I hate). When I post images here, since they're separate images, those with large enough screen resolution see the obverse and reverse side by side and those with smaller resolutions see the obverse above the reverse. No scrolling.
Any suggestions on this?

1. I would prefer if the thumbnails were a bit bigger. As someone who doesn't know what most of the coins are, I would find it convenient to be able to look through the page with the thumbnails and be able to get a good idea of what the coin looks like, then exert the effort to click on ones that interest me to see the larger version.
2. As mentioned by others, it would be nice to see both the obverse and reverse when the thumbnail is clicked on. If you don't want them side by side because it might be too wide for some screens, you could stack them on top of each other, though this would require scrolling vertically. But at least that's more "normal" than scrolling horizontally. Either way, one click to see both the obverse and reverse is less effort, something I look for when browsing around a site for fun.

I was afraid this would entail a lot of rework on my part in Photoshop, but I was able to write a script on the web site that reads in the separate obverse and reverse images, joins them into a single image, and writes the new image out to a separate directory. It then also generates anew thumbnail image, so all I then had to do was to change the scripts that generate the HTML code to point to those new images.
Once I had the programming done, it just took about 5 minutes to generate 530 new wide images and thumbnails... a heck of a lot easier than manually redoing stuff.
The cool thing is that if I decide I need larger or smaller thumbnails, all I have to do is delete the thumbnails, change one variable in the script and rerun it. Voila! New images.
Anyhoo, enough GeekSpeak(TM). Take a look and see if you like the new look better...
