I've never seen anything remotely look like this in the US Mint's inventory, but then again I've not seen everything.

    But what about the reverse design...did the US have a coin resemble this one?

    Sure the designs are real, one of them was created by the US mint in the 1870's, and the other was created by a private US firm creating silver rounds in the 1970's. Now someone in Thailand has put them together to make a fake piece that claims to be silver but isn't. So to summerize, designs real, "coin" fake.
