About 100 of these were issued in the 60’s and early 70’s to commemorate the Hall of Fame for Great American’s. Each medal weighs from two to three ounces. I have the set which my father left me. I think I’ve seen one or two of these medals come up on E-Bay, but they seem to be pretty hard to find. Here are a few more...

Man, Auggie Saint-G's eyes followed me around the room in that last medal. And the reverse of it is way cree-py. But cool. Very neat stuff.

That series of medals went beyond the "stock art" look found on so many pieces of that era. I've seen very few of them offered and don't ever recall having seen a full set.

I'm sure the silver medals have suffered from a high rate of melting since 1979.

I think the series was also issued in bronze.
