1878-8TF help Please

I bought this raw in 2000 for 53.95 + Shipping. It is an 1878-8TF, but I don't know the grade. Could this be VAMmed?
There is doubling on both the Obverse and Reverse. Can provide more scan details if needed (the original scan is 85M)
Thanks in advance for any help.

if you can hook up with one of the VAM guys in the forum and have a good loupe, they should be able to attribute it for you rather easily using the PM function. depending on the luster, the coin looks like an MS64 to me which should mean there's good detail to identify the die characteristics.

stand by, these guys are good!!image

Looks like an A1f reverse which is one of the more common reverses. I don't have my VAM books with me (at work) but someone should be along to give an exact attribution. It looks to be a nice mint state coin, 63 or better without seeing it in hand. . .

Looks like a VAM-17 to me, a common coin. The reverse is unmistably A1f and all three varieties using that are common.
