Made in America host John Ratzenberger @ Philly Mint

John Ratzenberger's Made in America on the Travel Channel was at the United States Mint in Philadelphia tonight. It was very interesting...if you get the chance and happen to see this episode being telecast, drop by and learn a few things about the internal workings and the people behind the coins at the Mother Mint.

I'll have to look out for that one. Some of his other episodes have been interesting.

  • I saw that episode also. Now I know why it is so hard to get a high grade business strike Sac dollar out of the mint this year. There is quite a lot of banging of the coins in the process.

In the future, I would hope that the US minting capabilities will never be "out sourced" to another country. Are there laws in effect that would prevent this?

I saw the show and it is pretty good. I reccomend seeing it if you can.

By the way, a while back I saw Bebe Neuwirth on Broadway in "Chicago". Man, that lady can belt out a tune and dance!

Same here - he looked like a kid in a candy shop when he scooped up those handfuls of quarters from that hopper
