I don't know that anything was done to it, the coin simply looks like it sat with a rubber band around it that laid on the reverse.

Maybe that band of brown gunk will come off with acetone. Sort of a "what the hell" pickup for $12 -- basically no real downside risk.

pretty much, I happened to be on when it was closing so I sniped it. I would have gone $5 over that because I like the look, but happily noone else wuz lookin !

Ill quick acetone it, I have yet to try that. this'll be my first effort

Ill do it outside, w a q-tip, and NOT while smoking....

I looked at the bluriness on the leg 'o the bird and it looked a bit odd.

With silver nearing $14 per ounce, it's tough to see why there isn't a wild feeding frenzy on the bay right now ! I'd say you got good impulses.

Looks like you might have a VAM-4 (Top-50) too. Looks like a dot punched between the leaf and the rock above the second E of PEACE.

That coin doesn't bother me at all. I like circulated coins with some natural skin. Looks like a nice VF30 to me. I don't think it is a VAM-4, but it's a nice collector coin IMO.
