  • Cohocorp, do you work for GAI? image

The SGC crossovers didn't really surprise me but I don't think I saw once GAI lose more than a grade (some went up) when crossed to PSA. Maybe I need to start scooping up some cheap GAIs and try to cross them over. Thanks for sharing, that was interesting.

With the exception of the one card you commented on, fairly consistent across the board. I am always interested in seeing cross-over results and this, as you say, is a fairly large sample. Thanks for sharing.

Now you just need to crack them out of their PSA slabs and send them back to Newport Beach. I'd bet we'd see more inconsistency that way than with your inter-company results.

  • Interesting. I own some GAI 9.5 FF versions that are overgraded. But recently I have had a BGS 9 come back a GAI 8.5 and one I thought would get a 9.5 came back a 8.5

  • Thanks for the results.

xanadunow-- no, i do not work for anyone. i got alot of those gai cards from kit young.

this was actually a pain to get this list together, but i figured some of you guys would be interested in the info. i crossed everything to psa for my registry set. i was pretty happy with the pafko and the crosetti. 2 toughies. now as for the hearn dropping 3 grades, it is a possibility that i damaged it cracking it out. it was a long, tough day. i didnt notice damaging it, but it is possible. i used heavy duty pliers and a miniature crowbar. got bloodied up and blistered. i got pretty good at it though. 5 seconds to break out of a gai holder. sgc is tougher. i broke a bvg once and had to use a hammer. not again.

no doubt, thanx for sharing your x-over results...

i have 1 gai card i sent in on this month's modern special, it had great corners, but there was a small stain or print defect in the background...

Very consistent results - well done!!
  • from this post its nice to see gai is grading accurately. there was never no ? that they had talented graders there but they always had the stigma as over graders.

It shows me that for the most part the grading company's are pretty consistant. I had similar results a few years ago with a few dozen Cracker Jacks.
