1972 Topps Presidents Set

I've been trying to find some of these cards lately and I only seem to find the '56 Topps Presidents cards. Is it because there are fewer '72s? Or, is it because the '56s actually are worth more slabbed than the '72s and the latter might not be worth submitting?
Just trying to get a little history about these because I really like the designs on them, but would rather get the '72s because of the set being 'updated' with more recent Presidents and the fact that it would cost me a lot less as well, I would imagine.
Anyone have any info on these sets?
