CW Coin Values picture grading

I see on page 45 of coin values by Coin World a depiction of a VF30 half dime. Next to it I see an EF 40 coin depicted. Now, honestly which coin is the VF? Not the one depicted as being so. A picture typo? Or What? I mean look at the EF coin Ms. Liberty has a hole in her arm. Yes, this article serves
to make grading easier and more
fun.
I like this magazine very much. Sincerely.

Same with the AU 53 and AU 55. What do they consider each coins
    strike or usual strike characteristics?

Part of the problem in the AU grades in particular is that you're looking at luster in addition to wear. A coin might have the same amount of wear, but if one is much less lustrous than the other one could be a 50 and the other a 55.

if you are talking the bust half dimes of the Dec issue I can help...is that the issue you are looking at? If you are talking Ms. Liberty's arm, it must be seated stuff!

Really, I can't see the picture too well. I do like the neatness of your
office. The coins are seated half dimes in February 2007 CoinValues.
A favorite magazine of mine from Coin World.

They were Capped Bust half dimes in the December issue image

Much like the December issue, where they covered the Capped Bust series of half dimes, in the latest February 2007 issue they cover the Liberty Seated half dimes. Somehow up here in Maine, where we get our mail delivered by dog sled, we seem to get our Coin World before you guys in Texas and California. Go figure.

Texas? Texas? New Jersey has been called a lot of things, but never
    a Texan. image

Sorry. I meant Barndog as the Texan. And Cladiator is the Californian. I would never insult anyone from New Jersey.

Did you know that California has more lawyers, per capita, than any other state? And did you know that New Jersey has more toxic waste sites than any other state? And do you know why? New Jersey got to pick first.

No, no, I don't know. What you mean? I amuse you or something?

I'll tell you what we picked first.
