Remote capture photography....follow on.

After reading in the previous thread about this software. Thread. I went to the Nikon site and downloaded a 30 day trial of the Capture software and what a difference. I can change the setting on the fly of the camera and adjust the most important setting as needed...white balance. I posted a coin yesterday on the boards.... a Bust half. The first set is me photographing the coin by hand. The second is by software and the camera tethered to the PC. What a difference!

Most everyone that moves to tethered shooting notices a difference in detail and clarity. Most of the time it's because of not pressing the shutter release by hand. If you shoot from a copy stand or tripod, and do not use a remote release or self timer you introduce camera shake just by pressing the button.

No comparison in the photos......SWEET!

This is why I'm messing around with this. As it is I set up on a tripod and use a 10 second timer so I'm not shaking the camera. Not necessary when I'm photographing the trees outside at a high shutter speed but it is necessary at a macro setting. No shake is vital.

I use a tripod, though I can now state that my hand is clicking the shutter is not what it used to be!
