Two beautiful 1899 PCGS high grade IHs, one worth $60,000 more than the other

The first by Heritage of the infamous 1899 PCGS 68RD Gorrell ex. Epstein coin. Sold for $69,000 at the 2003 FUN sale.
The second by Lakesammmon of the infamous 1899 PCGS 67RD coin he ripped from a dealer's display case for $6,000
at the same FUN sale.

I found this the most interesting contrast of coin purchases ever posted on the forum.

May be in the pics though!
Ike Specialist
Finest Toned Ike I've Ever Seen, been looking since 1986
Anyway the photos were probably taken by different people. The first one has that bright glare in front of the Indian's nose and behind his head. For my money I'm taking Lakes example.
Picture of coin 1 shows a couple of blemishies to the left of the eye, and a spot below the 8. rev a spot to left of the O.
I would love either one, just not for $69,000

Have we maybe gotten just a tiny bit too condition sensitive? They are both EXQUISITE to me.
I guess I'm just not cut out for the new standard of excellence.

For $69,000, you bet your ass.
