TDN's coin will be mostly impossible to grade accurately off of an angled "color" image. Plus the fields are burnt out on it.

  • <<Peoples opinions of a grade off an image for an unc or proof coin are irrelevant - for fun only. They shouldn't be used to decide if you're going to spend money and time on a crackout. That's the problem with posting an image and asking what the coin grades. >>

It WAS for fun only. That doesn't mean that your guess is a total joke. If thats the case - don't by any coin over the internet at all!

<<Perhaps you'd care to give me an opinion on the grade of this coin off this image that's twice as large as the one you posted?>>

Sure, let me see if the cartoon channel is on...

Dragon and I have been attempting to teach you why you are wrong about your coin being an upgrade candidate. If you don't want to learn, and reciprocate with such an attitude - why should we bother? image

I think the coin is a 64 on a good day and a 63 on a bad day. The 80 cc concave breast is very rare (or was when i was heavily into Morgans 20 years ago) in 65 and up. It also usually does not have booming luster and is inferior to the regular 80 cc. Proof like examples are very rare as well.

    good luck on the resub.

edited to add: your example has a clean look to it and that may be a plus. But like many have stated we can't really tell from a scan.

what you could have done, was, while it was in the ngc 64 holder you might have sent it to pcgs as a crossover. that way if it did not cross or go to 65 it would have stayed in the 64 ngc slab at least.

    Good for you.

how about "tell you why we think it's not an upgrade candidate" - that would sound a bit different.

also - not an upgrade candidate from where? From 63? You would be flat out wrong there. From 64? maybe - thanks for your opinion.
