06 Topps Heritage Football. Uh oh here we go again

So I found myself in need of a fix. Saw 12 retail blasters at target and wound up buying 6....nice design but not a whole lot. Bought
one last box as I was leaving and pulled this:

Now Im hooked. Someone please help.

I can solve your problem. Just box up all of them and send them to me. Then you will no longer have to look at them and be tempted to buy more of them.

  • I have busted 2 hobby boxes and 2 retail blasters. I still have not pulled any of the big name rookies. I found the collation to be horrible or just bad luck.
  • I pulled Vilma and Maroney refractors from two WalMart blasters . . .

    Oh happy day.

Kevin - I was in my local Target last night and saw a ton of the blasters as well. Bought one and wasn't impressed with the collation - lots of Raiders and Eagles; four of the eight packs had both the red and black back variations of a player's card as the 6th and 7th card. SPs apparently aren't that short - looks like they fall one per pack - is that consistent with your pulls too? Looks like master sets on the Bay aren't going that high either. Seems like Topps' last few retro issues (Allen & Ginter, '06 Turkey Red and now '06 Heritage football) have yielded some soft results for resellers. Allen & Ginter, to be fair, has an outstanding autograph lineup which totally fuels the sale of that product.

So, speaking of Heritage, has anyone heard any rumblings about '07 (1958)? I'll most likely do a case of retail, but I'm not gonna get sucked in as hard as I did last year. My main thing this year will be to do the the traditional master set, plus at least a chrome set, and of course the relics. For those that remember my relic chase, I'm now only one card away from finishing up the complete run. If you're hoarding a 2001 Clubhouse Collection Chipper Jones, please contact me - I'll make it worth your while.

I pulled the YA Tittle real one auto out of a hobby box today!!!!! Thats now 2 of the 8. These cards are beautiful. It looks like some
of the real one autos including Gifford are redemption..that sucks.

Anyway. I should have a list up for you all soon. Im still sorting.

    Thanks

    I hear ya.

I don't do FB - had to cut back last year.

But, hopefully, look out this year!

I'm looking forward to the 58T design on Heritage - and no one is more due than me with respect to auto'ed cards!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good luck and happy hunting.

I went to a Target store and my wife needed a throw pillow - under a stack of old pillows that look like no one has touched them since the Carter administration were 5 abandoned blaster boxes of 02 Heritage!!!

    I wish.

Are the retail boxes just as good as the hobby? Usually I avoid the retail since the odds are lower.

Thats the great thing abuot heritage. Retail have the exact same odds and the same exact cards. That keeps hobby packs priced lower....if the
initial release makes for high hobby prices, wait for hobby. I think its less than a few months before 1958!! Can't wait. It will still be nice
to actually see the Williams and Mantle cuts that supposedly went into 2006 packs!

JoeStalin- did you get your cards on our trade finally! I wanted to make sure- It has been a long time but you had my auto forever then you sent me my stuff then your second batch came back and back to you. Please let me know I am sure it did but let me know

Also- I have the same itch on the 06 heritage football

I have one full case on the way(6 boxes for me and 6 for a co worker)

    I have bought 10 retail boxes(8 packs)

3 retail full boxes(mistake) for 70.00 at wal- mart

I still am few away from a set but am addicted.

man I HAVE NOT PULLED A SINGLE AUTO IN THE BOXES YET! Not one! They are tough as heck!

I have only pulled three or four jersey cards all rookie jerseys

I did get great red back, black back and high #'s in my boxes but man NO BLACK REFRACTORS nothing worth bragging about at all!

so far I have opened about 400.00 worth and NOTHING to be proud of

but will be opening a half case next week.

let me knwo what you need

I am building one master master set with all autos, relics, chromes, chrome refractors

two master sets for my twin sons(be three in january) but they love these cards and the gum.

so have a lot of work to do- I do have just about one complete master set
** Working on the following sets-2013 Spectra Football Hall of Fame 50th Anniversary Autograph set, 2015 Spectra Football Illustrious Legends Autograph set, 2014-15 Hall of Fame Heroes autograph set. **

LOL, I don't think I remember our last trade. You said you had to send it again, so Im sure I got it.

Here are the numbers I need. 86R/70B/66R/55R/31R/20B/109/324/337/396/405/407

I also have a bunch of doubles, chrome and GU and could help you with that. The only other set Im doing is the real one auto set. It
really is a beauty, but at 1:1000+ packs, its a hard pull!

I was with the wife at Target and they had a large inventory of TH FB - I was very tempted but I'm saving myself for 07 BB. And anyway, why buy just a few boxes - you know my track record with heritage and autos!

I'm combining my Christmas and Birthday present - my wife will buy a case for me.

    I need a good source.

    Congrats on the nice cards.

I spend about $100 a year on brand new baseball and football cards hoping for something good, but I never get chit!

But I'm a sucker so I'll keep on trying. - LOL

Kevin - I busted a couple blasters, and have these for you: 20B, 70B & 405. I didn't pull a single Ram out of the 16 packs, so if you have any Ram dupes, that'd be great. If not, no biggie - PM me address again and I'll get these out to you.

I haven't followed heritage football in a while, so they still do a chrome or finest version of it? What is the holy grail card in the 2006?
    Mike
  • joestalinjoestalin Posts: 12,473 ✭✭
There will be a few nice cards in this set. Key short prints are Peyton Manning and Reggie Bush. The Cutler is also a short print. The real
ones don't have any super great cards in them, but its still a nice set. Chromes are there in the same form as all the baseball.

Thanks Kevin. I'm getting sick of continually buying Upper Deck products and not even having a chance to finish a set.

Kevin - don't know if you've seen one of these or not. Saw this over on the Buckett boards - I'm really hoping this isn't a sign of things to come with Topps Heritage.

Ouch that is ugly, heritage baseball collectors will cringe at that....certainly a product of an all rookie checklist. Baseball is nice
because the vets and retired guys usually are good returning cards and the companies don't need to go the sticker route. If they
ever try to use these for baseball, Im out.

You would really cringe at the other autos that they put in football, they don't look anything like heritage.

    Stupid question here:

How do you know the SPs?

    I know 300-400, or thereabouts.

If there is a demand, I will list the aforementioned cards on eBay.
  • joestalinjoestalin Posts: 12,473 ✭✭
There is nothing official but the SP's have been listed.

I don't like that card at all...

I'm totally against scotch tape autos!

I just bought a box to look at the cards.

The design is good - I assume the colors are muted to give it a 'vintage' feel...

The 52T design box for the autos - it's really bad - the sigs are too light and too small.

    Overall - it's ok but that's it.

  • Overall - it's ok but that's it.

    Agreed, Mike.

I will be buying Sharpies in bulk and sending these beauties off for some decent-sized autographs.

Should be interesting to see which cards are returned.

  • Is there anyone collecting this set? I am nearly done with the regular set and just need a few cards. So I am looking to trade if possible.

Hit me up with your numbers and if anyone pulls the real one autos LMK if they are for trade

    Thanks

  • Kevin,

I got roped in over Christmas with a hobby box. Here is my break:

    Hines Ward Black Refractor #1/52
    Matt Leinart Silver Refractor #530/552
    Tavaris Jackson Silver Chrome #'/1952
    Shaun Alexander Silver Chrome #'/1952
    Drew Bledsoe Silver Chrome #'/1952
    Joe Horn Silver Chrome #'/1952
    Mario Williams RC
    AJ Hawk RC
    Laurence Maroney RC
    Maurice Jones-Drew RC
    Maurice Stovall RC
Tavaris Jackson Gridiron Collection GU Jersey

Didn't seem like a super impressive break when I opened the packs, but compared to others I have seen since I think it was decent. The black refractor is a pretty tough pull. I liked the base card set well enough to want to complete the set and those Real One auto's look great so I am going to try a few more boxes.

I have busted multiple hobby/retail including blasters and still have never pulled a black refractor. As I noted earlier the card collation (is that the right term) is horrendous at best.
