Loonie question

Did Canada produce a loonie dollar in 1996 that has a reverse proof finish (the devices shiny PL with the fields being frosted or satin finished)? If so, can someone provide a link to one on the internet? Thanks

    Hi Bill

Can't find any reference to a reverse proof Loon $ in Charlton or in CCN Trends.

It may exist, I just can't confirm at this time.

edit to add: Just checked a 1996 Specimen Set. The fields have a brushed look while the design has a bright polished finish - this is similar to the reverse proof but doesn't have the frost normally expected of proof.

Maybe it is from a Specimen Set.

I think because the 1996 PL set is more expensive many dealers and people have opened 1996 Specimen Sets to sell the loonies and twoonies.

    just a thought
